A recent study from Australia shows that an increased red meat consumption, when combined with weight training increased muscle mass in older women by 1lb, decreased inflammation markers by 16% and increased strength by 18%, when consumed and trained over a period of 4 months.

Eating red meat increased protein intake to 1.3gramsΒ per kilo of bodyweight, which is optimal for older people.
