By law, on the ingredients list, products which are not inside brackets will always show the greater amount first.

When labeled this way it has be the correct order for the product to apply with UK legislation.

However, if the ingredients are listened inside brackets, they can be in any order. Again, this is totally legitimate.  For example if you saw on a label:

  • Whey protein concentrate, soy protein, pea protein should mean as it reads: whey protein concentrate in the highest amount, followed by soy and pea last.
  • Protein blend (whey protein concentrate, soy protein, pea protein) could mean soya, then pea then whey; there’s no way of telling.
Essential, the moral of this short article, if you want to be 100% sure you aren’t getting ripped off by your protein supplier, avoid any brands that use brackets. As I’m sure you’ll be aware, it could be a majority of soy as the main whey, which is nearly half the cost of whey protein and shown in many studies to increase estrogen so many other side effects.  Equally pea and other similar proteins are much cheaper and much less bio available.

And if less bio available – less gains!
