Well, most of us could have already told you this, but those of you who like the science bit, should read on!

 

Meghann Robinson and others at McMaster University (yes, really) found that eat red meat promotes muscle growth in older men.

 

They fed test subject 2oz, 4oz and 6oz of red meat to older men (aged 59) who lifted weights. Β Muscle protein syntheis was greatest in the 6oz category.

 

The study showed that feeding red meat to older men increased muscle mass when combined with lifting weights.
