The FDA have taken the step to allow a local fat mobilizing drug to be approved for the market.
The drug called Kybella, is injected into the chin fat deposits (by authorized licensed physicians) which helps metabolize the fat and get rid of it.
The drugs destroys the cell membranes surrounding the fat and which then release the contents into the blood stream where it is dealt with by normal metabolic processes.
The drug is only approved for use in the chin but no doubt will be used elsewhere – time will tell!
