If you want to start working out, you want to make sure each and every workout makes a difference. Don’t get me wrong; you won’t wake up after doing one day of arms with huge biceps. Real results take a lot of time to achieve. However, you can make sure you get the most out of each workout by using a few tried and tested tips:

Focus on the Mind/Muscle Connection

You need to make a mind/muscle connection as you workout. What’s a mind muscle connection? You need to focus on the muscle group you’re working as you work it. Really feel the muscle working, and focus on really pushing yourself with each rep. Don’t just go through the motions. You need to really concentrate on the muscle to make a big difference.

Always Challenge Yourself

If you’re not going as hard as you can, you probably won’t make any difference. You might even find that you hit a plateau. You should always challenge yourself to make changes. Use heavier weights if they are getting easier. Run a little faster. Be honest with yourself to make sure you’re challenged each and every workout.

Create a Sustainable Plan

Make sure your plan is sustainable. Don’t create a plan for 6 days a week if you know you’ll only go 3. It needs to be enjoyable for you and you need to keep it up. If you’re not enjoying a plan, then change it. You should look forward to going to the gym, rather than dread it.

Eat to Support Your Training

Make sure you’re eating to support your training. Lots of people think they can eat what they want because they work out, but this isn’t the case. You need to eat to support your training. If you’re lifting heavy weights, you need to eat protein to support muscle building. If you want to burn fat, you need to focus on keeping carbs a little lower than usual, eat protein and healthy fats. Whatever you’re trying to do, you can buy supplements online to support your training too. You can’t go to the gym then eat a big fat takeaway to treat yourself. That’s not how it works and you certainly won’t see any difference in your body!

Don’t Slack

Stay off your phone as your workout. Do not slack. You need to stay in the zone. Rest periods are important, but you need to only have as much time as you need before moving on to your next set. If you allow yourself too long, you won’t make much difference at all. Usually, 1 minute should suffice. Unless you’re going really heavy, in which case you might need 2-3 minutes. Be conscious of times when you’re slacking and your head isn’t in it. Avoid talking to people for too long too. It isn’t a social event!

Ready to make sure each of your workouts make a huge difference to your body and health? Use these tips and you won’t regret it. Be consistent and you’ll soon get to where you want to be!
