What was actually said?
Some recent studies by other researchers said red meat increased mortality.
So what did this study say?
This study shows, by Penn State University, that daily consumption of lean beef decreased total and LDL cholesterol which are linked to heart disease. Eating around 140g of lean beef a day decreased blood fats by around 10%. The diet uses was actually 28% fat total fat, 6% saturated fat and 19% protein.
What did they conclude?
They conclude concluded lean beef is good for the heart as it is low in saturated fats and is good for the cardiovascular system.
