How did you get started with bodybuilding? What were the defining moments that have guided you towards the bodybuilding lifestyle?
I have always enjoyed weight training more than cardio. Two years ago I decided I needed a goal and started a more structure training routine and signed up for a fitness competition.
Where does your motivation stem from?
Eating healthy and working out is part of my life now and makes me feel so much better and energized. I get my motivation from looking great and feeling great.
What workout routine has worked best for you?
I do a 6-day split routine with focus on my weak areas – the lower body. I also do HIIT style cardio but don’t like a long, steady state cardio. Occasionally, I might do a Crossfit class.
What is your favorite muscle group to train?
My favorite muscle group to train is legs because I really feel it after.
Through experimenting with many different diets I figured that I do best on a keto-style diet. I prefer a high fat and high protein diet over a high carbohydrate diet. My keto plan has been tailored for me by Team Wild and I can see results straight away.
What is your supplementation like?
I take fish oil, multivitamin, primrose evening, glutamine, glucosamine, ZMA, l-carnitine, CLA, digestive enzyme, pre-workout and BCAA’s. All has been advised by Team Wild and works great for me.
Do you prefer to use HIIT or just normal cardio?
I prefer HIIT as it is quick and challenging. Due to a busy lifestyle I do mostly HIIT as it fits into my schedule better.
What are your future bodybuilding/fitness goals?
I would like to win a show but my main goal is to maintain a toned ‘off season’ body.
What advice would you give to new beginners as well as well establish competitors?
Find a coach that will try and design a plan tailored to your needs and likes. It is important to be able and reach out to your coach at any time in order to get all those questions you will have in the beginning answered.
Competing will require a lot of dedication and motivation but you should still be able and enjoy life a little otherwise it is very likely not sustainable.
Team Wild has given me so much great advice and I love their diet and workout plans. Health and well-being come first with Matt & Yo which is an important factor for when you chose a coach.
Thank you!
