One of the biggest problems for most gym-goers is that they can’t get rid of stubborn belly fat. If you’re eating well and still struggling to lose fat, check out the tips below:
Anyone that’s keen on fitness will know there are always a few raised eyebrows when the term ‘fat burner’ is muttered. Many people believe they’re a waste of money and don’t do anything. Well, the truth is, there are lots of fat burning supplements that don’t work, and lots that do. The problem with these supplements is that people assume that you’ll just burn fat immediately. They think they can take them and carry on lifting weights and they’ll see a reduction in body fat. It’s not strictly true; you still have to eat right and do your cardio.
One of my favourite supplements is CLA; it’s proven to help reduce body fat in a fairly short space of time. You take it with every meal and make sure you’re eating well and working out. Adding this to your supplement stack can help you achieve the lean look you’re going for.
Hill Sprints
Supplements are all well and good but you still need to do some cardio if you want to lose belly fat. One of my favourite cardio workouts is hill sprints. This takes something simple, like running, and ups the intensity. It’s easy to do hill sprints, all you need are a pair of Nike runners and a hill. In fact, you don’t even need a hill, you can do it on a treadmill and just up the incline.
However, I find that the best results come from finding a steep hill that you can run up and down. To get the most out of your workout, you should bring things to place down as markers. Set markers an equal distance apart up the hill. Then, you run to the first one and run back to the start. When you’ve returned, to the start, you turn around and run to the second marker you placed. You carry this on until you’ve reached the final marker and run back to the start. Then, you’ve earned a well-deserved rest. Once you’ve rested for a minute or two, you do the whole thing in reverse! So, you run all the way to the top then back to the start. Run all the way to the second-to-last marker, and so on and so forth. It’s a super intense bit of cardio that will get you shredded.
Spinning
Another one of my favourite cardio workouts is spinning. For those that don’t know, spinning is intense biking cardio. You use special spin bikes that use your own power as resistance. The harder and faster you pedal, the more resistance is created and the tougher it is. It’s similar to how rowing machines work!
My best spinning workout involves a bit of interval training. 30 seconds intense sprinting, followed by 60 seconds of light pedalling. Do this for 8 rounds total, including a couple of minutes warm up and cool down. You’ll almost be able to feel the fat dripping off you!
