You’ll often hear online people declaring a certain rep range is the magic range for muscle growth (known as hypertrophy).
This has been hotly contested over time and many people disagree furiously over what is the best thing to do when it comes to rep ranges and overall muscle hypertrophy.
Recently Brad Schoenfeld has indeed been researching such matters in one of his many meta studies into muscle growth.
The results are in, and this what has been stated.
“Brad SchoenfeldΒ reports from his meta study analysis….
Changes in measures of muscle hypertrophy were similar between conditions. The findings indicate that maximal strength benefits are obtained from the use of heavy loads while muscle hypertrophy can be equally achieved across a spectrum of loading ranges.
Take home note? Growth is achieved equally across rep ranges. “
