The summer may be fading into a distant memory, but that’s no reason to cut back on those exercise sessions. It may not be ideal weather for running, climbing or playing tennis. But there are loads of indoor activities you can try. Give these a shot and you can work out to your heart’s content without any weather worries.

Spinning

Spinning is a high-intensity exercise class, which involves pedaling as fast as you can on an exercise bike. If you tend to spend most summer days out on your bike, this is the sport for you. Spinning offers a powerful cardio workout, but it can also be fun. You usually do it in groups, and you’ll have an instructor there to push you to your limits. If you’re a beginner, it may be a little overwhelming at first. But once you get the technique pinned down, you’ll improve week on week.

Zumba

Fancy yourself as a bit of a mover on the dancefloor? If so, zumba should be right down your street. Zumba is a fast-paced dance workout, which blends street dance with Latin flavors. This is no ordinary dance class. It’s hectic, chaotic, and loads of fun. Go with friends, or use it as a chance to meet new people. There will be music pumping, and you’ll learn new routines all the time. You’ll be working every major muscle without even realizing. If you’re interested, contact your local gym and ask for a zumba fitness workout class time table.

Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a fast and furious fighting sport, which is ideal for those looking to release tension and gain strength. The aim of the game is to beat your opponent with a series of kicks and punches. As a recreational sport, kickboxing can help you increase your stamina and endurance. It also gives you valuable self-defense skills and provides a release if you’ve had a challenging day or you’re prone to stress. If you discover a natural talent, you may wish to take it to the next level, and compete.

Badminton

Badminton may seem like a gentle sport, but it’s actually incredibly hard work. You’re on the go constantly, and you need reactions like a cat. You can play alone or with a teammate, and you’ll quickly gain a grasp of all the shots. Playing badminton on a regular basis will improve your speed, stamina, and agility. Many sports centers have indoor badminton courts. You may also be able to take lessons if you’re eager to develop your skills quickly.
