One persistent myth that has perpetuated bodybuilding and health circles for many years is whether high protein diets compromise bone health.

The review stated that “Current evidence shows no adverse effects of higher protein intakes. Although there were positive trends on BMD at most bone sites, only the LS showed moderate evidence to support benefits of higher protein intake.”

 

In short? Β the current evidence tells us there is no risk at higher protein intake to bone health and that higher protein dietsΒ may actually HELP bone health, which is quite the opposite to what was once believed.
