When looking to put on lean body mass or indeed lose body fat, one key aspect is quality of your diet and having everything in place as you need.  Many people say: “I don’t have time to prepare, you’re lucky!” etc.

It couldn’t be further from the truth.  We don’t have time, we make time.  We wake, work and we train often at midnight.  We prep our last meal and finally start resting at about 3am, there is very little ‘free’ time in our day.

The trick we have found is to get into a pattern of when to cook and prepare foods.  We get home from work and IMMEDIATELY put our food in for the next day in the oven and the rice cooker on minute minders.

This means sticking in an average of 1 kilo of chicken/beef and 200g or so of rice and having it cook itself for the next 30 minutes or so and know our house won’t burn down.

We also (used to) own a Six Pack Fitness bag (it got shredded to bits after only 5 months of use – we hope the new ones are better quality), now we own a BeFit food bag.  This enables us to carry five meals with us, wherever we go, meaning we don’t have to snack from shops and get to eat exactly what we need and hit the macro goals with little or no junk.

The Six Pack Fitness / BeFit bags includes ice packs that keeps the meals cool and prevents them going bad.  It also stores two shakers so we can store protein shakes, as well.

When we go out to restaurants when cutting, we plan them either around a cheat meal so we can enjoy without worrying OR we will look ahead and plan from the menu, leaving nothing to chance.  It means we can still enjoy ourselves without damaging our progress.  It can be done!

In terms of the food itself, we always buy unprocessed good – this means we can decide what goes into them, what if any additives and means they are kept clean and healthy and not filled with anything bad, such as added salts, sugars or sweeteners that may affect water retention.

Ultimately planning your diet, knowing what it is and sticking to it will bring you closer to your goals.

Another important aspect of training is supplementation. RPGSN products we use to help with our training and recovery.
