One of the latest trends to hit the fitness scene of late, seems to be carb back loading.

Essentially one does not eat any carbs throughout the day, eating only protein, fat and greens (which yes, will contain minimal carbs, mainly fibre) and then often during and post consume all the days carbs.

Not only does this mean in theory during the day the body is using body fat and consumed fat as energy due to a lack of carbs making one leaner, when one does eat carbs post training the level of insulin sensitivity will have dropped, allowing one to utilize consumed energy into bodily repair rather than being stored as adipose tissue.

Pakman here explains it more in a little detail. Β Take a minute, its quite interesting!
